Moto G9 Launched In India - Specs

Moto rolls out a mid-range smartphone in Moto G9 in India. The new Motorola smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch Max Vision LCD display that gets a HD+ resolution.

The device is powered by AI-enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset. In the single variant launched that offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Also comes with Android 10.

The Moto G9 could feature a 6.3-inch Full HD+ waterdrop display with an IPS LCD screen. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery. Also, it supports 20W Turbocharging.

The Moto G9 includes 64GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB). The Motorola G9 could feature a triple camera setup on the rear which would comprise of a 48MP primary camera along with a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is also a fingerprint sensor provided at the rear of the smartphone. The Moto G9 also comes with face unlock system.

The new Moto G9 comes in two colours-- Forest Green and Sapphire Blue-for Rs. 11,499.

The Moto G9 will be available on Flipkart and will go on sale from August 31, 12 PM onwards.

This is a feature that maximizes group video calls. According to a wabetainfo tweet, just tap and hold a contact in the group to see your video maximized in full screen. It is not yet clear when the feature will arrive in beta, and whether it will be taken to the stable version.

WhatsApp brings back camera shortcut to chat page

WhatsApp introduced the Messenger Rooms shortcut recently on its beta app. To do this, WhatsApp replaced the camera icon with the Messenger Rooms shortcut. It is important to note that the Messenger Room shortcut is only available for beta users and the feature has not been officially rolled out. So if you are trying hard to find the icon in your chat sheet, stop trying as you won’t be able to see it until WhatsApp rolls it out for all users.

While many companies are already using the video conferencing app Zoom for business meetings, interviews, and other purposes, individuals who are facing long days without contact with friends and family are moving to Zoom for face-to-face and group get-togethers.

However, for meetings and professional interactions, Zoom is currently one of the best video conferencing platforms. The free version of Zoom allows up to 50 people in a video-conference call which is making it the preferred app for educational institution and organizations with larger teams.

Zoom has the ability to replace the space behind you with an image of your choice, no green screen required. It works for Zoom desktop users and iOS users, but Android users are out of luck. The hardware requirements are a bit high, but those who don't meet them can still use virtual backgrounds, though performance will vary.

This is a great feature for those working from home who don't have dedicated office space or, like me, tend to let their workspace get a bit cluttered. It's easy to toggle it on or off and adding a personal background is as easy as making a couple clicks.

Just like video calling apps including Google Duo, FaceTime and Skype, the Zoom app is fairly easy to use. The app is available on various platforms including Android, iOS, Windows and Mac.

On your smartphone, head over to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and search for Zoom. Mac users can open the App Store and search for the Zoom Meetings app.

You can also create an account by clicking the “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Facebook” buttons, after which you just download the Zoom desktop app and move on.

After you’ve installed the Zoom app, you’ll see buttons to “Join a Meeting” or “Sign In.” To start your test meeting, click “Sign In.”

Zoom claims to be end-to-end encrypted but this doesn't seem to be the case. According to a report by The Intercept, Zoom has access to your files and messages shared during meetings which the company can use for ad-targeting. Since the company came under scrutiny, it has updated its privacy policy. With that said, as long as you make sure everyone in a Zoom meeting connects using computer audio instead of calling in on a phone, the meeting is secured with end-to-end encryption, at least according to Zoom.

WhatsApp Introduced Dark Theme Mode For Android Beta Users

WhatsApp is finally rolling out, for all Android beta users, the Dark Theme feature!

WhatsApp Dark Mode is finally here, a much-awaited feature that has been in the rumor mill for months. It must be noted that dark mode is currently available only to the beta testers as of now. There is no word as to when the feature will be rolled out via the stable channel, but it shouldn't take very long.

WhatsApp's native dark mode is simply called Dark in the theme selection interface, and it imparts a dark green profile to the messaging app's entire UI with some contrasting colours here and there. Once dark mode is turn on, the device theme will switch from the default white theme to a dark grey theme and text will also chage from black to white. 

The WhatsApp home screen and the settings menu are now clad in a dark colour, but in case of the conversation interface, only the chat bubbles are dark while the background is white or it reflects any other colour users have set as background.

How To Enable Dark Theme

First You have to updated to the latest beta version the 2.20.13 installed

Then Go to Settings >> Chats >> Theme

Tap on that, and you’ll be able to pick whether you want WhatsApp’s look and feel to follow your device’s look and feel, or default to Light or Dark mode.

Light theme: it’s the usual white theme that you have always used in these years.

Dark theme: it’s the one that you wished to have in WhatsApp!

System default: WhatsApp identifies the theme used by your Android system (if light or dark), and sets it in WhatsApp automatically. It’s useful if you use the latest Android version (Android Q) that supports Dark theme system-wide.

Huawei launches P30 Lite New Edition

Huawei, has announced the availability of the HUAWEI P30 lite New Edition 

It is a device that completes the HUAWEI P30 family . It promises users an enhanced experience in the hardware and photographic sectors, at an advantageous price. It is based on Android 9 with EMUI 9.1 interface and supports Google Mobile Services.  

A recent note from Huawei India has confirmed that Huawei P30 Lite will receive stable EMUI 10 by the third week of this month. On the other hand, users of this smartphone have already started receiving the stable update in some other country.

The new version of the P30 Lite will commence sale today. Huawei is launching this smartphone in multiple markets but they have slightly different names. In Germany, this device is the P30 Lite while in Spain, its called “Huawei P30 Lite 256GB version”. In France, this device is known as Huawei P30 Lite XL. Huawei will launch the new version of the P30 Lite in more countries.

The interesting part of this device is that it is available in the UK market with Google Mobile Services. It comes with a 299 pounds ($389) price tag.

Huawei P30 Lite New Edition is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F processor that features 4 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.7GHz.

For photography, the P30 Lite packs a triple camera setup made up of a 24-megapixel selfie camera and a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple rear cameras. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The P30 Lite upgrades its RAM and storage capacity. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone measures 152.9 x 72.7 x 7.4 mm and weighs 159 grams. The screen is a 6.15-inch display with a resolution of 2312 x 1080 and a ratio of 19.5: 9.

The Huawei P30 Lite New Edition runs Android 9 and is powered by a 3340mAh non-removable battery. The Huawei P30 Lite New Edition supports proprietary fast charging.

Huawei P30 Lite will receive Android 10

Huawei has announced that an EMUI firmware update will be released soon for the P30 Lite smartphone, which was announced in early 2019. The update will bring a new version of the shell and the Android 10 operating system.  The EMUI 10 brings the latest features and changes in user interface design including the magazine-style UI layout, Morandi UI color system, and the new Dark Mode, which provides users comfort while using their smartphone in the low light scenarios.

According to RPRNA, Huawei P30 lite has begun to receive stable EMUI 10/Android 10 upgrade with version 10.0.0.159 and weighs 3.93GB. The stable patch for beta testers likely to be smaller than the full OTA.

This update is confirmed to rollout in Asia and may soon expand to more regions/countries.

The manufacturer noted that the EMUI 10.0 beta-testing program based on Android 10 OS for Huawei P30 Lite smartphone was recently completed, and now developers are preparing to launch the software distribution. The release of the stable version is scheduled for the end of this month.

Honor 20 Series Smartphones Lauched In India

Honor has launched three new smartphones in India yesterday at an event in New Delhi – the Honor 20 Pro, Honor 20, and the Honor 20i. While the Honor 20 Pro and the Honor 20 are currently the high-end flagship smartphones from the brand, the Honor 20i is a mid-range smartphone.

The Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro have an elegant design owing to the large screen display on the front. Both smartphones have a punch-hole display which houses the front facing selfie camera. The rear panel of the smartphones is made out of glass which harbours the company branding and the quad rear camera setup which is aligned vertically.

The Honor 20i will be available to purchase starting 18th June from Flipkart. The Honor 20 will be available starting 25th June from Flipkart. Honor hasn’t revealed the exact sale date of the 20 Pro for India.

The smartphone features a 6.26-inch full-HD+ all-view display that comes with a punch-hole design. The new Honor smartphone sports a 6.26-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) All-View display along with a hole-paunch selfie camera and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The Honor 20 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The Honor 20 is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM. The dual-SIM (Nano) Honor 20 runs Android 9 Pie with Magic UI 2.1 on top.

The Honor 20 has a 48MP + 16MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera configuration. Honor has replaced the 8MP telephoto camera with a 2MP depth sensor on the Honor 20. Honor 20 has a 3750mAh battery.

The Honor 20 will retail  at ₹32,999 and is available from June 25 via Flipkart.

The Honor 20 Pro comes with the flagship chipset from its sister brand Huawei, the Kirin 980. This SoC has four Cortex-A76 cores, four Cortex-A55 cores, and Mali-G76 MP10 GPU. The Honor 20 Pro sports a 6.26-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution. The smartphone also has a 32MP selfie camera with 3D portrait lightning.

Powering the device is a 4000mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. The connectivity options on the Honor 20 Pro include dual-SIM with dual-VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The device does not come with a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Honor 20 Pro is available in two colour options which include Phantom Blue and Phantom Black. The Honor 20 Pro is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery.

Honor 20 Pro is priced at Rs 39,999 for its lone 8GB RAM variant in India. The device can be bought in Phantom Black and Phantom Blue colours.

Honor 20i is an affordable smartphone with premium design and impressive specifications. It offers a 6.21-inch full-HD+ waterdrop notched display with 83.1% screen-to-body ratio, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Honor 20i includes a triple rear camera setup, which houses a 24-megapixel Primary shooter with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. Google Maps Now Offers Speedometers and Tracking Bus ,Train Routes

Now, Google Maps is getting the ability to display speedometer on the navigation screen. This new setting, which can be enabled from the navigation settings in Maps, displays the vehicle speed at the bottom left corner of the screen. Unfortunately, the feature reportedly doesn’t seem to be working with Android Auto yet.

Furthermore, the app also warns users’ if they are exceeding the speed limit, making it a useful and practical feature to have. However, the speedometer is being rolled out in batches from the server-side.

As the image shows above, you can now see your current speed (orange number) alongside the posted speed limit for the road. This doesn’t look like a feature that is available to everyone right now though. Google seems to be slowly rolling this new feature out to various people around the world via a server-side switch. Android Police reports that users in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Portugal, Sweden, the UK, and the US seem to be some of the first to see this new feature in the Google Maps application.

How to Get this Feature?

Separately, Google recently rolled out three new India-specific features to Maps app in India, including the ability to check trains routes and their real-time status directly within the app. It also shows bus travel times in the ten largest cities in the country and mixed-mode commute suggestions that combine auto-rickshaw and public transport. For bus travel times, the Mountain View giant is using the combination of live traffic data and bus schedules to estimate any delays.

The live train tracking feature allows users to track the location of various trains in real time. It is especially useful for commuters who want to know at what time their train is expected to arrive at a specific station. Users can also view the list of trains operating between two locations.

The bus travel estimate feature gives an estimate of the time required to reach a certain destination by bus, based on live traffic conditions. This feature has been introduced in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, Chennai, Mysore, Coimbatore and Surat.

The mixed-mode directions results feature shows the total time required to complete a journey using multiple transport options. These may include, walking or trains, buses, rickshaws, etc.
