Apple Officially Announces September 12th Special Event at the Steve Jobs Theater

Apple sent out the invites today for an event that will take place in Cupertino at the Steve Jobs theater, where press and analysts will get a first look at all the new gear. Apple will hold its next big iPhone event on September 12. The company has issued media invites with its own tagline teaser ‘Gather round’ - along with an image pf a golden ring, which looks like the power button.  Let’s dive in to see some more details on it. The company’s shares rose 1.6 percent to an all-time high of $226.63.

Based on the Apple rumours, Apple is expected to launch three new iPhone models this time. The company is said to announce three new iPhone models, each with a different form factor. Moreover, the company is also expected to release new iPad Pro models and the Apple Watch Series 4. This year’s iPhone announcement will take place on September 12, 2018, at 10 AM Pacific Time (PT). As for location, gone are the days when Apple has to look outside of its own buildings to house all of the media and invited individuals in attendance. Like last year’s event, the 2018 iPhone announcement will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater within the Apple Park campus, Cupertino.

Apple is widely expected to unveil three new smartphones at the event including a new 5.8-inch OLED iPhone, a 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, and a 6.5-inch OLED iPhone. All the upcoming iPhones are expected to feature notch design that was first introduced in the iPhone X last year. All three devices will have facial recognition and edge-to-edge screens like the iPhone X, but the two premium models will have OLED screens, while the cheaper phone will use LCD technology, Bloomberg News has reported. All three should could with an iPhone X-esque design language. iPhone will command the majority of the attention but there could also be a sneaky Apple Watch 4 announcement thrown in for good measure. While Apple had earlier leaked its Gold variant of the iPhone X to the FCC it is currently not yet available for purchase.

Apart from iPhone's, Apple's iPad Pro models are also expected to get a refresh in 2018 and they are predicted to come with Face ID and no Home button. In terms of display, the updated iPad Pro's will likely pack in a 12.9-inch version and a rather new 11-inch version. Apple is also working on two new iPad Pro models with slimmer bezels and facial recognition along with a new low-cost MacBook laptop and a Mac mini desktop geared toward professionals.

One of them is speculated to be called the iPhone XS. Beyond the iPhones, Apple is also believed to be planning new Macs, Apple Watches, and iPad Pros for debut this year.
