Facebook Rolls Out New Website Redesign ; Includes Dark Mode
Feature
Facebook has
finally announced that over the next few weeks the redesigned desktop platform
it showed off at the end of April in 2019 will come to all users.
“This week we introduced the new Facebook.com. Announced at
F8 last year, it will now be the web experience for Facebook globally. It’s
faster, easier to use and gives your eyes a break with Dark Mode. Enjoy lower
brightness, alongside contrast and vibrancy, with dark mode. It minimizes
screen glare for use in low light, wherever you are. Easily create Events,
Pages, Groups and ads on Facebook. Preview a new Group you're starting in
real-time, and see what it looks like on mobile before you create it," The new immersive layout along with Dark Mode
makes viewing videos on Watch a great experience.”Facebook said in a statement.
If you're interested in checking out the new Dark Mode on the Facebook web, you have to enable it manually. In fact, if you're still using Facebook's classic build, you first have to "Switch to new Facebook'.
- The first thing that you have to do is click on the Down Arrow situated on the top right corner of the menu bar.
- Now, select "Switch to new Facebook".
- Once you do that, click the same Down Arrow.
- Finally, Toggle On Dark Mode.
The dark mode introduces an almost black background to help
ease the strain on eyes in dimly lit situations. The company has provided a
toggle for the user to switch on or off the dark mode. It works to put less
strain on your eyes when you're using it at night.
Apart from the dark theme,
the update also brings dramatic overhaul changes to the table, like the Home
layout which features a lean News Feed.
