Google announced that Google Lens will no longer stay buried inside Google Assistant and Google Photos app. Google Lens was one of the hot topics out of Google I/O, this year. During the show, Google told us  that a number of OEMs would have live processing built right into their camera apps, which we've since seen going live for some phones produced by Sony, OnePlus, Motorola, and ASUS. In addition to real-time Lens lookup and a redesign, Google announced at I/O 2018 that the visual search feature is coming directly to third-party camera apps. The Google Camera app for Pixel, Nexus, and other select devices is now the latest client to be updated with quick access to Google Lens. Google has rolled out a more straightforward way to access Lens and its visual search features on Mountain View's own devices. Now it  has added Lens right into Google Camera app for the Pixel and Pixel 2, as well as for select Nexus and Android One devices.  Google Lens in the Google Camera app is just another mode like AR Stickers, Portrait, or Slow Motion. As such, it’s accessible in the navigation drawer as the second to last menu item, just above settings.

Google is now glowing in Android in some apps like Google Photos that can easily search text on image. This essentially means users can copy and paste text from the real world, such as recipes, gift card codes, or Wi-Fi passwords, directly to their smartphone. Google Lens, in turn, helps in making sense of a page of words by showing relevant information and images. There's also a discovery feature called style match that lets you just point the camera at an item of clothing, such as a shirt or a handbag, and Lens will search for items that match that piece's style.

However, with the latest update, Google Camera brings Google Lens to Pixel, Nexus, and other Google supported devices. Google camera version 5.2.025 brings the Google Lens integration to the above mentioned devices. After you update, you will now see the Google Lens option in the navigation bar. The last update to Google Camera in March revamped settings and introduce the ability to customize the double-tap gesture. Meanwhile, earlier this month, Google Lens gained a shortcut app with homescreen icon for direct access instead of having to first launch the Assistant panel.

Google Lens comes to Pixel and Nexus Android camera apps - How to get It ?

You simply have to tap anywhere on the screen to look up objects, establishments and even dog breeds, to instantly translate words, or to send email to addresses you see on business cards, among other things. After tapping, the Lens icon briefly appears before opening the same Lens experiences accessible from Assistant. Users can tap anywhere on the screen to begin a search, with results loading in the panel below that features a microphone icon to launch voice search.   Google promised to put Lens right inside camera applications back during its annual I/O developers conference, and now it's making good on its word. Lens will eventually make its way to third-party manufacturers' stock camera apps, as well, including LG, Motorola and Sony, which already rolled it out to some of their devices. Pressing the back button will quickly return users to the live camera viewfinder to snap a picture.

Version 5.2.025 of Google Camera is rolling out now via the Play Store. You can check out the Google Camera app on the Play Store, but you won't be able to see it unless you have a Pixel, Nexus or a compatible Android One device.
