Xiaomi is getting more active in launching other products
under its brand name. The company is reportedly working on two new smart
refrigerators.
The Mi 8 SE, is an
affordable version of the Mi 8 that marks the global debut of Qualcomm's new
Snapdragon 710 processor. The Mi 8 SE, meanwhile, comes with a 2.2GHz octa-core
Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor clubbed with Adreno 616 GPU. The Mi 8 SE will
come in two RAM versions: 4GB and 6GB. Both
the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM versions of the Mi 8SE will meanwhile ship with 64GB
storage. Storage expansion isn't supported for Mi 8 SE. The Mi 8 SE come with a 5.88-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display
(2244x1080 pixel) with a notch up top and an unusual aspect ratio of 18.7:9,
and support for the DCI-P3 and HDR colour standards. The Mi 8 SE also supports
always-on display functionality.

Xiaomi has released a number of new smartphones along with
the upgraded variants of the older ones. The company has sold over 10 million
smartphones in the second quarter of the year, creating a record of the highest
number of units sold by any smartphone brand in India. The China-based company
surpassed Samsung to become the largest smartphone brand in India, as per last
year’s statistics.
The Xiaomi MI 8 SE is an excellent mid-range smartphone,
thanks to its specifications and affordable price tag. The Mi 8 SE sports glass
back, measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs 164 grams. Xiaomi has added a
5.88-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display on the front, which carries a
resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels.

has added a primary 12MP sensor on the rear which has a f/1.9 aperture, EIS,
PDAF and so on. The primary sensor is paired with a 5MP secondary depth sensor.
Xiaomi’s camera app comes loaded with a slew of AI features. Up front, the Mi 8
SE packs a 20MP shooter. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of
recording 4K videos.
The phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The
smartphone packs a 3120mAh battery that claims to offer 269 hours of standby,
108 hours of local music playback, 13 hours of video playback, and 7 hours of
continuous gaming. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11
a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, VoLTE, and USB Type-C support. Onboard
sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, gyroscope,
infrared, and proximity sensor. Lastly, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE measures at
147.28x73.09x7.5mm, and it weighs 164 grams.
For storing data and apps, the device offers 6GB RAM and
128GB onboard storage and no option to expand it. While the old variants offer
4GB/GB RAM with 64GB onboard storage on the device.
The new variant of the Mi 8 SE will go on sale tomorrow July
27 at 10 AM (local time) on Xiaomi’s official online store. The all-new 6GB+128GB storage variant of the Mi 8
SE is priced at 2,299 Yuan (approx. Rs 24,100). The new variant will be
available in various colour options- Gold, Dark Grey, Bright Red and Bright
Blue. Notably, the other variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is retailing for
1799 Yuan (approx. Rs 19,000) and 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs 21,200) for the
6GB+64GB storage option.
