Good news is that the update is already available for Nokia 5.1 Plus TA-1102 variant in India and our device is already downloading the update as we write it. The Pie build number is V2.09B and it is 1214.4MB in size. You also get the new system navigation, Settings menu, and redesigned notification pane.

The first interesting change is notch hiding option becoming available in the display settings. Unlike Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 5.1 Plus didn’t have this option by default.

The major changes and features include all-new gesture-based navigation option, lots of UI changes, Notification improvements, Settings revamp, usability improvements and much more. One of the notable aspects of the new Android Pie is the digital wellbeing.
It brings Dashboard, which highlights screen time and phone usage including how many
times the device has been unlocked and a number of notifications received so that they get an overview on how much obsessed with the phone.

It also allows users to set App Timers to put limits on app usage. Android 9 Pie brings numerous new safety features, including a standardized biometric authentication prompt to provide a more consistent authentication experience across Android.
Android 9 Pie also makes notifications more useful and offer actionable functionalities with conversations such as attach photos and stickers along with suggesting smart replies. Also, helps users get things done faster by predicting their next move and displaying the right action on the phone.

The new System navigation system offers a single home button that provides intelligent predictions and suggestions.

It offers up a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, up to 4GB of RAM, a 3,060 mAh battery, and a 5.86-inch notched HD+ display. Notably, it’s also a part of the Android One program which means it offers up all of Pie’s standard features including Adaptive Battery.

Introduces Pro Camera mode

The announcement was made by HMD Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, who further announced that the update includes the new Pro Camera for the mid-range phone.  Since this is an Android One device, Nokia keeps the software pretty clean, which also makes it easier for them to update the device quickly. The Nokia 5.1 also gets an updated 16-megapixel primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash.
