THE REAL LIFE
HACKS - techPK
Like the real world, there is a good and bad side to the
internet. Here are some things you ought to remember every time you log on…
If almost everyone you know is connected to the World wide
Web, you might be tempted to join a social media network. However, if you are
longer than the website’s age limit , do not lie about your age to create an
account. Even if you assume you are mature enough to be a part of the website’s
audience., remember that the website has its rule for a reason. BE A RESPONSIBLE
INTERNET USER BY ADHERING TO THE WEBSITE’S RULES.
When it comes to your online
social circle , ADD and INTERACT ONLY
WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW. The internet gives scope for people to wear a
mask. If the person happens to be a mutual friend or someone with common
interests, double check their identity and trustworthiness.
DON’T
SHARE YOUR PASSWORD WITH ANYONE . Your
password is like the lock on your door when your entire family leaves
home for a vacation. Just as how you
wouldn’t give the key of your house to someone you don’t trust, don’t give your
password to anyone(except your friends).
Don’t assume that everything that you delete will be erased permanently.
THINK TWICE
BEFORE YOU POST OR UPLOAD SOMETHING.
THE INTERNET
BLURS THE LINES ON OWNERSHIP. Once you upload a photo of yourself online,
it is no longer your photo, but can be downloaded by anyone who has access to
it.
If you receive a message or see something that makes you
uncomfortable TELL YOUR PARENT OR AN ADULT YOU TRUST. Also. DON’T SEND MEAN OR INSULTING MESSAGES.
Don’t download, just about any app that seems interesting. Some
apps could have security issues that allow hackers to access your information. DOWNLOAD ONLY THE APPS YOU NEED.
When it comes to how you should behave on the internet, remember if you won’t do it in the real world . don’t do it online.
