It seems like Instagram is in the news every other day. Highlights include its new Lite and IGTV apps, though there are several Instagram app tweaks sprinkled all throughout. Now, the Facebook-owned company has added the ability to ask questions in its Stories, a feature I'm surprised wasn't already there. Instagram is on a spree to add new features to its platform. The latest addition appears to be the ability to post questions in Stories. There are already yes/no polls and emoji sliders (yes, that's a thing) that can be used with questions; the new aspect here is open-ended questions. With these, your followers' answers can be as long-winded as they want them to be.  Instagram appears to be testing the new feature which will allow you to post a question in Stories and seek responses from your friends, according to the report. Android Police has shared what looks to be a test for a questions feature in Stories -- add it to your creation and your friends can type their own answers, which you'll see listed by user. It wouldn't be surprising if the feature rolls out soon. Instagram has been on a tear lately, introducing everything from IGTV to group video chat and Story soundtracks. This might be one of the more modest changes in the past few weeks. The addition would speak volumes about Instagram's larger too. It's already betting that interactive Stories will help keep users hooked, and this is a logical extension of that strategy.

Instagram is still adding music, so if you don’t see a band or a song that you want to add to your story, no worries! It might get added over the next couple of weeks.

Instagram added yet another new feature on Thursday. You can now put music in your stories with a few simple taps. These aren’t full songs, but rather 15-second clips that you can use over your photos and videos. These aren’t instrumental or royalty free tracks though — you’ll find popular songs from top 40 radio and beyond in a library of thousands of songs. There's a few genres and moods to choose from, and a search feature for anything that's not included on the front page. Instagram says there's "thousands" of songs included, but the list isn't as extensive as what can be found on apps like Apple Music and Spotify.  Adding music couldn’t be easier. First, tap to add a sticker while viewing a photo or video on your story. This will pull up a page full of stickers that you can slap on to your content. Next, find the new sticker labeled “Music” in the second row. You will immediately see a long list of popular music, though you can also sort by moods and genres if you’re not sure which song you want.  Friends viewing your story will hear the song playing, but they can also find out what song it is from the sticker displaying its title and artist name. If you have a song in mind, you can search for it. Once you’ve selected a song, you can choose what part of the song you want to play over your story, and then drag it over whatever photo or video you deem appropriate. Clips can be up to 15 seconds, but they can also be as short as you want. Once the music clip has been inserted, the name of the track and artist will appear whenever your friends view the story, so they can find the track on their own if they happen to like it.  If you want to add music to a video you’re about to take, you can do that too! When you open the camera to actually take the video, all you have to do is hit the music tab under the record button, look for a song and the part you want, and then record the video. Finally, you can also choose your song before you begin by swiping to the new “Music” option under the record button, which allows you to film along to a clip, rather than retrofitting music on your content. The music feature on the app is currently only available for IOS, but a version for the  Android will be coming soon.
